December 5th, 2006 November 22nd, 2006 November 20th, 2006 Right on time for Thanksgiving, here's a bit of news on Fashion Royalty.com at long last. The entire team has been extremely busy putting the Jason Wu event III under wraps and designing the 2007 collection. The event was a real success and we are looking forward to be doing it all over again next year! This news update covers many parts of the site that have not been updated in a while, but mostly our product section with the release of the Miami Collection and the news that one of the main Fashion Royalty characters will not be returning in 2007... What a shock!! Also, we'd like to note that the Modern Pompadour wigs are now available in several colors, visit the wig page for more info, click here. Happy Thanksgiving! Why not join us for a cool meet and greet with Jason Wu and Mel Odom in Las Vegas on August 10th, 2006, from 5 pm to 7 pm at FAO Schwarz, The Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace? Part of the exciting IFDC convention also taking place in Las Vegas that week-end, this event will give you a great opportunity to meet your favorite designers and get a sneak peak at some of the new fall 2006 Integrity Toys offerings. We will also be pre-releasing few dolls from the Modern Pompadour collection: Obsidian Society Vanessa, Femme Du Monde Natalia, Style Renaissance Adèle and Lights Caméra Royal Véronique. June 28th, 2006 June 26th, 2006 Summer is at our doors and what better way to start up than with new additions to your collections! Next on the shipping row, Queen of the Hive Natalia Fatalé and our new Model Behavior gals. We feel you'll truly enjoy their sleek and sexy look, the cutting edge of Missima Cosmetics with Fashion Royalty quality! It's been a long long time since Toy Fair and many of you have been asking when the final site would be up... Well ask no more my friends, here it is! We will be taking a small pause in the construction howeverr to launch the official Gene site in a few days, but we will return with the long awaited archive very shortly. What's new this month? Are the new FR dolls made of a different material? Without delving into specific technical details, we opted to switch from a manufacturing process that involved Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) for the arms and legs (a very porous material that easily absorbs fabric dies and is less durable in the long run due to its high porosity) to the nearly indestructible ABS (a high impact material that is far more color-fast and stronger than PVC but involves a different construction method, hence the joints that can now be seen on the arms and legs, which wee are working hard at perfecting. You should note that ABS is lighter than PVC, even though it is higher quality and more impact resistant, thus the difference in weight between old and new bodies. ABS is a standard material used for highly articulated dolls. Therefore, in this case, “lighter” does not mean “cheaper”; it is actually a superior material. We wish to ensure you all that these modifications are a way to increase the quality and longevity of our products and bring the line to the next level. Why the change in height? Many of you have also expressed concerns regarding the height difference and the impossibility for the new dolls to wear certain previously produced FR clothing items. We are constantly seeking to keep the Fashion Royalty line at the top of its game. As designers, we felt that the longer, taller look, the larger range of motion of the dolls and the refined sculpting of the feet would increase the amount of realism and appeal to a broader range of collectors, while maintaining the proportions of the torso of the old dolls to ensure the “wearability” of most of the previous clothing. We truly hope that in the long term, you will come to embrace these changes and appreciate them for what they are: improvements on a theme. Our goal was not to get everyone to go into a brand new format of dolls, but see this as the next phase in the ever-evolving life for FR. With this said, we want to reiterate to all our fans and friends that we are working very hard to fix what needs to be adjusted and we will do everything to ensure your complete satisfaction with our new products. Is there a secret to having the dolls’ wigs stay on? The dolls’ wigs are made to the specifications of each doll’s head size. When applying the wig, use the built-in elastic band around the doll’s wig and stretch it ever so slightly for a snug fit. The elastic must be stretched a bit for the wig to wear properly. How do I replace a defective product? We pride ourselves in excellent customer service. If you are amongst the unfortunate few who have received dolls with cracked arms, or tarnished wig-stand please visit www.fashionroyalty.com/contact.html for exact return instructions and it will be our pleasure to address your concerns in a timely manner. We would like to once more thank you for the deep passion you have shown for our products over the years and look forward to continually sharing our creativity with you! |
