Switching a Doll's Head to a Different Body

-INSTRUCTIONS-

CAUTION! IMPORTANT!

MAKE SURE YOU POINT THE BLOW DRYER'S STREAM OF HOT AIR AWAY FROM YOUR FINGERS AND THE DOLL'S HAIR! HOT AIR FROM A BLOW DRYER CAN BURN YOUR FINGERS. AS PER WARRANTY POLICY, THIS PROCEDURE IS DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND INTEGRITY TOYS, INC. WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE SHOULD INJURIES TO YOURSELF OR DAMAGE TO YOUR DOLLS RESULT FROM YOU ATTEMPTING THIS PROCEDURE!

Switching the head of a 16-inch doll:

Please note that the technique is the same for a 16" doll, however since the doll is larger,
you may need to warm up the vinyl a little longer.

Swap 1 Hold your doll by the scalp as shown, carefully cupping your hand over her hair line to protect the hair from the heat of the blow dryer, thus preventing potential damage to your doll.
Gradient
Swap 2 Making sure the blow dryer's air flow is focused on the base of the head just below the hairline and away from your fingers, warm up the vinyl of the head to soften it. This will facilitate its eventual removal in step 4.
Gradient
Swap 3 Repeat step 2 while you point the blow dryer all around the base of the head until the vinyl is soft (for a 1500 watt blow dryer, use high setting for approximately one minute. If you have a lower wattage blow dryer, you may need to do it for longer. For higher wattage blow dryers you may need to turn the setting down slightly). Keep warming the vinyl in 30 second intervals until you feel the vinyl around the neck is soft and pliable, then proceed immediately to step 4.

Swap 4

Gently squeeze the now softened head, and gently but firmly rock the head side to side as you lightly move the head upwards, until the head comes off its neck post (neck post should stay attached to the body!).

THIS OPERATION SHOULD BE EASY. IF YOU ENCOUNTER RESISTANCE, THE HEAD MORE THAN LIKELY NEEDS TO BE SOFTER. IF SO, PLEASE WARM UP THE VINYL SOME MORE, REPEATING STEPS 2 AND 3.

Swap 5 Once you have successfully removed the head from the old body, check the head. If it has cooled and is no longer pliable, warm up the head again (approximately 20-30 seconds) before proceeding to step 6.
Gradient
Swap 6 Push the head straight onto the replacement body using a gentle but firm touch and voila, your doll is ready to go again! If you encounter resistance, again, heat the head in 30 second intervals until it is pliable enough to complete this step.
